Back

September 30, 2006

Back to my room finally, after spending the night at the girlfriend’s place. We had a good time, other than the fact that her dorm (all girls) seems like it is on prison lockdown at all time, seeing as she has to escort me around everywhere. To top it off, the only guys bathroom is located on the main floor of the building near the entrance.

I picked up Halo 2 again yesterday, because I never finished the storyline when I bought the game when it first came out. That, ontop of my buddy insisting we need to play it on XBL, in addition to the new Halo RTS trailer, I decided it was a good purchase. Played the first mission last night, hopefully I’ll get some more in today some time. I’ve decided it’s best to lay off of the MMO’s for a little bit, so EQ2 is going to stay frozen, and I’ll give EVE a chance later on. Hopefully this will give me some time to catch up on my single player games.

Tuesday I have three tests, and a few projects that I should be turning in by now. I really need to sit my ass down and study some, but I’ve got zero motivation to do so.. Going to head off of this thing for now, may post again if anything interesting happens.

I really need to stop!

September 29, 2006

Alright this Pokemon thing is getting out of hand, it’s like I’m a little kid again! I’ve put 7 hours and 45 minuets into the damn game. To give you an idea of what I’ve done so far, I have 19 Pokemon captured (or evolved), two badges, and a pretty good team set up. I’ve abandoned my starter, in hopes of breeding a new one to use later on. Right now I’m trying to make a team of the creatures that I never used the last time I played this game.

In other news I am finally done with the last class of the day. Right now I need to go start my laundry, finish and online quiz, and take a shower. I cant accomplish all of that before lunch with the girlfriend, so I need to choose wisely.

The Ultimate Fighter kicked ass last night, and I did end up going over to my buddies place to watch it. We are supposed to go see Jackass 2 sometime this weekend, so that should be a blast. I am pretty sure I’ll be spending the night in the girlfriends room, since her roommate is leaving, so I may or may not make another thread, just for the heck of it. I don’t think I’m going to have much to do over there (other than play Pokemon!).

Anyways, I’ll post again later, I’m trying my best not to let this thing die, and it’s not as if I am losing interest in blogging. I’ve just been busy, and not had much to say. Hopefully both of those things change soon!

And there it goes

September 28, 2006

So the week is finally just about over, and I couldn’t be happier. Well, I could, but that is besides the point. I have yet to reactivate my EQ2 account, and in my mind I am starting to push the date back a little bit. I’ve been reasoning with myself that this would give me time to complete the 360 games I have, and play some others. Sadly, I am already about 6 hours into Emerald, and I cant put the fucker down.

I am also thinking that right now might be a good time to start that EVE online 14 day free trial, since I don’t have to worry about splitting time between that game and EQ. I should really be studying this weekend, and doing work, but I’ll let you know what I decide.

The Ultimate Fighter is on tonight, and I am pretty excited. The episodes have been getting better and better, and I agree with Dana White, that this has been the best season yet. I’m looking forward to the big free fight on Spike October 10th. Tito Ortiz VS Shamrock one last time. Supposed to be going over to my buddy’s room to watch it, but who knows what is going on tonight. It doesn’t help that the girlfriend wants to have dinner with me too.

Oh more news, she ended up getting a job today, and starts next week. She’s going to be pretty busy, but she does need the money, and the job experience does along with her chosen major, so I’m all for her doing it. I’m not really worried about her having to make time for me, because we’ve done the long distance thing before, and it’s not a problem. Besides, I like my alone time! I am concerned that she may have to much on her plate though, and I hope she doesn’t overwhelm herself. I’m going to stop here and go attempt some homework, but make sure to remind me to eventually write about all of the podcasts I listen to.

And now for a Break

September 27, 2006

So this week has been pretty hectic, but now it is all easy. Besides finishing some projects and studying for two tests next week I should be in good shape to just relax. My Everquest 2 game card expired so my account is frozen atm. I’ll probably end up using my debit card either tonight or tomorrow and get back into the game. I DID however go and use that Walmart gift card, and pleeeeeease don’t be ashamed of what I did! After looking around online for a new DS game I didn’t see much of what I wanted, but I noticed that in Japan, Pokemon Diamond and Pearl were just being released. This of course sparked my curiousity, and I ended up checking out how the franchise has changed. Unfortunately it also kicked my need to ‘catch em all’ into high gear and I ended up going out and picking up Emerald on GBA.. /sigh Ah well, it gives me something to do this weekend when I spend the night over in the girlfriends room (she complains we never hang out there, and her roommate is going out of town for the weekend so I finally aggreed to stay over).

I need to get ready for lunch, so I am heading out for now. I’ll post again if anything interesting happens today. Later!

What happened to Monday??

September 26, 2006

Oy so yeah, I’m not sure what happened to Monday, all I know is that I now want Tuesday to be over. Between a test yesterday, and a test today, I have my heaviest two days of classes, and I am really getting worked over here. I have two assignments I need to finish soon, but don’t have time to do it today because I really need to study before this test today. Which means I need to get off of here. I’ll be back later when things have calmed down.

Am I Late??

September 24, 2006

So I never got around to writing up another blog last night, but I am sure no one was missing it. I still feel guilty though.. I had a great day/night yesterday. The girlfriend spent the night, and we stayed up watching two different TV series on DVD and just hanging out, having a great time. We slept in late, and then spent the majority of the day just hanging out and watching some more of the DVD’s.

I ended up making it halfway to level 26 yesterday in EQ2, hopefully I will be able to top that off some time tonight, but I haven’t had a chance to play at all today, and I still have some homework I need to get done before tomorrow. I also was able to experience a real group yesterday, and I killed my first giant in the game. To commemorate the occasion I made sure to take a screen shot that shows the size comparison of myself and one of the giants, and you can see that biggun’ up above. Yes, yes, I know I need to update my equipment. I’m working on it!

Next blog I write I will talk about some of the podcasts I listen to, and that I would suggest anyone with an interest in video games should check out. Speaking of video games, I’ve been thinking I need to pick up a new game for my DS. I haven’t had anything to play on it lately, and the girlfriend has basically taken control of it. That Walmart gift card is really burning a hole in my pocket!

Until next time boys and girls!

Once Again..

September 23, 2006

The day begins anew, and I have a whole fresh list of things to accomplish today. I’ll start off though, by mentioning what happened last night. Nothing to drastic, I made level 24, and had my first “group” which just consisted of myself and a brigand killing stuff for about twenty minutes.. It counts though! I’m really enjoying my character and this game, think I will stick with it for quite awhile. I need to sit down and start developing my character’s back story/history, for I am on a Role Playing sever, and these sorts of things need to be known! RPing is new for me, I’ve always wanted to do it throughout all of my MMO’s that I have played, but never really found a group that encouraged it. Despite being on a RP/PVP server in WoW, NO ONE did any roleplaying. At all. Period.

I mentioned running some errands yesterday, well one of them was to go get my eyes checked at the optometrist, and today I have to head back and order my new glasses. I’ll be glad when it’s all done and over with.

Really starting to get into my new book, and just like I thought it really started to pick up once I delved deeper into it, and I am having a hard time putting it down. I seriously need to start reading the other book though, for my class, before it gets to close and I have to cram it all in at once.

I’ve mentioned before that I’ve been posting regularly on message boards for quite some time, well I thought I’d link you to what is, and has been, my favorite board of all time. ACFriends (which you can find a link to on the right) is part of the vault network, which was a sort of fan site for MMO’s and other games that I stumbled upon when I was first playing Everquest (the original) many many years ago. I started out on the Everquest boards, and then when I took a break from that game and switched to Asheron’s Call (another MMORPG) I moved over to their message boards. ACFriends eventually ended up just being a general board of sorts, because no one ever talks about the game there anymore. It’s mostly just random stuff, about 50% of the time being based upon video games. Check it out if you get the chance, the forum is full of good people.

Time to head out and start my day!

And there you have it!

September 23, 2006

I finally got around to resizing those screen shots, plus I added in some new ones from EQ2, including a picture of Howard. Picture one is just a side view of my warrior holding his Blackwood’s Sword and Buckler, that were a special event only item that no longer drop in the game. Picture two is more of a front angle, showing off my Frost Wolf Tabard and other equipment. I love my Executioners helm!! Out of the Valor pieces I have the Gloves, Bracers, Belt, and Pants. Picture four (three just didn’t turn out right..) is a shot of my pet Mechanical Yeti, thought you’d get a kick out of him. Five is a bad ass frontal shot of my guy holding his Ice Barb spear. I really need new weapons, but hey, what can I do. :\ Six is me playing some Air Guitar in my Deep Dive helmet! Finally for the WoW screen shots, number 7 is a shot of my skeletal horse mount. As for the EQ pictures, number 1 is an interesting kung fu pose my Monk was pulling off, and two was just a very pretty view in game of the landscape and the sundered Moon in the background. The screen shot really doesn’t do the game justice. And of course, Howard is well.. He’s Howard!

I spent a great day with the girlfriend, and had some more much needed alone time with her. J While I was out running around I returned something to Walmart and received roughly $31.72 in store credit, which I will take recommendation’s for if anyone (ever reads this blog) decides to leave them for me. I was considering picking up a two pack of Pride Fighting Championship Dvd’s they have there for sale for $14.99, which would leave me with about half of the credit left. My friend insists that I pick up Halo2 so I can play online with him and some of our other friends. Lots of the guys in my dorm hall play it too, so I wouldn’t be short of people to play with!

Well, I think I am going to head back into Everquest and see what I can get accomplished. What really surprises me is that I am already halfway through level 23 and I have yet to group once, not for anything at all. It’s more or less my own fault, because I never advertise that I am looking for one, or respond to requests when people are looking.

(Sorry about the pictures, they ended up all out of order and I still had to fiddle around with them to make them seem somewhat fit with the text, but they ARE there!)

I’ll be around again soon, good night blog!

Peace at Last

September 22, 2006

Well the week is finally over, as far as classes are concerned, and now my weekend can begin! I just got out of the shower and have 50 minutes to write up this next blog post before I have to head out to lunch with the girlfriend, and then it’s off to run some errands. I started writing up a list of the things I wanted to write about in the blog because it was inevitable that I would forget about them before I actually sat down to write this thing, so this blog may actually have some interesting content today.

The first thing I wanted to mention is a clothing website called Threadless. www.Threadless.com is their web address, and the concept of what they do is pretty interesting. All of their T shirt designs are all user submitted, and then voted on by the community there. Shirts that are received well enough are scheduled for a limited printing, and then sold online. Once they are sold out, that’s it, unless there is large enough demand for a specific design that it is voted (again by the community) back into a reprint. I believe the designers of the shirt receive a set amount of money for their submitted design if it is chosen to be printed. While I am not an artist myself, I can appreciate the effort and work the people who are put into these shirts, and I think the price they ask for them is more than reasonable. I’ve ordered a few, but the some of my favorites that I would recommend you looking at are titled ‘Pandemonium’, and ‘The Communist Party’.

My World of Warcraft (www.worldofwarcraft.com) account is set to expire soon, so I dropped in recently to take some screen shots of my level 60 Undead warrior. Once I get those formatted I’ll have them up on my blog to show him off a bit. I play on an RP/PVP server, and really enjoy the content of the game, and my character, but am a bit burnt out on running 2+ hour raids right now, and need a break. I’m sure I’ll come back to the game once the expansion comes out in November (supposedly), unless I am to caught up in Everquest 2, which also has an expansion coming out in November. You can check out the content of each at their respected websites.

Ever since version 7 of iTunes was released, I’ve been experiencing lots of problems with the software. It keeps corrupting my library, causing me to add all of my albums, podcasts, album artwork back into the library, resubscribing to my podcasts, on top of having to reformat my iPod. I’ve had to do that twice, and have had my library crap out at least four times already. I have found a quick fix, by exporting my library every time I do something to change it, but that doesn’t make the situation any better. Apple really needs to get on the ball and fix these bugs ASAP.

I started my new book, Omega, and the last couple of days I’ve just gotten through the Prologue. It was a bit slow to start, but the subject matter is really intriguing, and once I get into the meat of the story (which should be soon, since the prologue just ended) I will start enjoying it much more. Unfortunately I don’t know if I’ll be doing that any time soon, since I have a book I need to read for one of my classes, that has an upcoming test that is based solely on the book, and I haven’t opened the darn thing once yet. On top of that I have two more tests next week that I really should get on the ball and study for.

In addition to Everquest I mentioned I was playing Saints Row on the 360. I am about 20% completed with the game and really enjoying what I’ve played so far. Saints Row has done many many things right that Grand Theft Auto did wrong, but they’ve also taken a step back by leaving such things as Aircraft, boats, and motorcycle/atv style game play out. Hopefully they can include these things in the inevitable sequel. I can see myself getting tired of the game though, and not being interested in playing it further, especially once I do complete it in it’s entirety. Until then I am going to keep enjoying it’s physics and game play, and blowing the crap out of stuff.

Alright, well that’s all for now I believe, I need to finish getting dressed and ready to head out to start my weekend. I’ll be back later with those screen shots from WoW, and hopefully an update from what is going on in EQ2. Peace!

Short and..

September 22, 2006

So yeah this one is going to be just a partial post. I’m kind of tired and honestly don’t have much to say. UFC was great, the guy my buddy picked at the beginning of the show finally got to fight, and got his ass handed to him, by a guy neither of us care for. But boy oh boy did it make my day when we got to see what a clown the loser was. Didn’t get a chance to sit down and play Everquest tonight, but I will make up for it tomorrow I hope. Before I finish this though, I have to say something about the blog is really irritating me. Under my interests in my profile, I can’t get them to turn into links like everyone else has. I figured that would be an easy way to find people with similar interests, but it wont work if I can’t click on them! Someone help me out here please! That’s it for today, good night.
